The Blair Witch

Oh boy... Me and John watched this Sunday night, god it was awful. But it's okay, because I knew before hand it would be. We were just curious, you know? Back in 5th or 6th grade it was supposidly one of the scarest movies out there. Plus they drop the F-Bomb several times in the span of three seconds during the whole length of the film, so being in elementary school everyone thought that was cool. Yeah, so me and John wanted to here what all the fuss was about, was it going to be stupid? Scary? Hilarious? Who knew.

It turned out it, in my mind anyways, that the movie was basically an hour of walking about in the forest in the daytime. Not scary, at all. Then, at night for about 5 minutes it would be spooky. There were parts where it was frightening, but the movie as a whole was just boring. Plus the main character seemed like she had a huge stick up her you-know-what... So yeah... I thought the ending could have been a ton better. It was like 5 minutes long, they could have easily made it to 10 or 15 minutes and made it more dramatic. You never even saw how anybody died. I guess if I was still a 5th grader my imagination would take care of that to make it a lot horror-like, but being 17 and watching it didn't give that imagination factor an edge.

The only way the movie would have been scary would be if it actually was based on a true story... Which at first me and John thought it was becuase they had an extra feature about the "Blair Witch Legacy" including a timeline of events that went on for decades (since 1840s or so?) We soon did an internet search and somewhat concluded that it was all made up, but we can't be exactly sure. If that was the real footage of those students, then holy crap! We just watched them die (or heard them die more like.) Otherwise, that was some really horrible acting...
